Teerasil Dangda

Nickname: Muey

Age: 28

Club: Muangthong United

Position: Striker

Debut: 2007, Iraq

Appearances: 85

Goals: 40

Verdict: A long-standing star of the national game, Teerasil was briefly on Manchester City’s books in 2007 during Thaksin Shinawatra’s short and ill-fated ownership, and spent a year warming the bench at Almeria in La Liga during 2014.

Quick and skilful with excellent shooting ability, he can play up front on his own or as a more deep-lying forward. Boasts a stellar international scoring record, but most of the goals it is fair to say have come against weaker opposition. Arguably, his anonymity in some big games has partly been a result of being left isolated as the only man up front.

Showed his ability in the 2016 Suzuki Cup winning campaign by finishing the tournament’s top scorer with six goals, and forming a lethal partnership with big man Siroch Chatthong.
